I was very pleased with my experience at Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes. After reviewing Yelp for a cake place near by, I stopped into the shop. We tasted a few different cupcakes and macaroons and ordered a two tier birthday cake and a couple dozen mini cupcakes for a very reasonable price.
Most importantly, the birthday cake. It served about 30 people or so and each one of us thought it was delicious! There was three layers of white almond with a light amount of frosting between each. The base had thicker frosting on the outside because I chose the flower pattern. I preferred the top tier, rustic pattern, cake to frosting ratio. This cake is simply the best birthday cake I've ever tasted. It was moist with a delicate flavor.
So I'm not the greatest at remembering which flavors I've tried, I aim to try the largest variety possible. Over the next few visits I had several macaroons: cotton candy, PB&J, coconut and few more. Each of them were very tasty!
So my reasoning for 4 stars... When we came to pick up our cake there were mini glitter doughnuts that screamed BUY ME from the display case. To be fair, I only bought them because of how they looked, but everything else I'd gotten here was so yummy. The mini glitter doughnuts cost $2+ a piece and they tasted like two day old glazed from the bakery at Walmart. Sorry, it's true. Stay clear of those and everything else here was fantastic!
I will most certainly be visiting KEC for my sweet treats from on.
