  • I took the Interpretive Hike with Ranger Jim Flook. Basically, I'm a non-tour-guide kinda gal, but this guy was amazing! He knew SO MUCH about the land, the petroglyphs, the Long-Horn Sheep, geology, etc! I was mesmerized, not only by that incredible canyon full of treasures, but also by the knowledge Jim generously shared. You can just hike and enjoy that sensual experience, but if you know more about what you're looking at, the experience becomes much, much deeper, and it stays with you. Sloan Canyon is a gem, but Jim Flook is, too.
