| - No early bird special? How will Switch ever survive in a town where the old folks sleep before the sun sets! (Story: Sunday night, every place in closed - literally, our three bookmarked Yelp spots in downtown. What's up with that, PHX? Luckily, Yelp pointed us to Switch off the beaten path north of downtown.)
Always get a seat at the back patio. And don't be a pansy by asking to turn on the heat lamps - get an extra drink instead. It's only Arizona "cold."
- $6 Red Sangria - Served in a tall highball glass. The fruit blend was unique with apples, strawberries, and blueberries. And of course, who doesn't love sangria? (The abundant other cocktails were dirt cheap at $6-$9!)
- $12 Lobster and Seafood Crepe (3) - I didn't taste much of the crab and shrimp, but there was a lot of lobster. Paired with the béchamel sauce, the crepes were a delicious, lighter fare. The accompanying, seasonal long baby asparagus were fresh and tender.
- $11 Thai Braised Beef Tacos (4) - So much flavor in the tacos from the marinated beef and the sauce, although a bit drippy.
Five stars, and the extra sixth star is for subtly advertising on the drink menu that there are $4 Screwdriver & Bloody Mary carafes and $6 Mimosa carafes for weekend brunch. Consider it a Yelp tip for when I come back. Well played, sir.
