If you need stitches or if you have a broken arm this might be a good place to go. If you have a more serious aliment do yourself a favor and go to your doctor or to the hospital. I went in to the ER at the Lakes on New Year's day because I had a swelling on the side of my throat. They did a CT scan and I was told I had a mass that was obstructing my esophagus. Dr. Anderson told me I had to be rushed to Sunrise Hospital in an ambulance. He said that if I went in the ambulance that I would get into the ER without waiting (not true). Sunrise Hospital has got to be the worst hospital ever. They lie to you and misinform you and just try to push more services and medication on you. After being there for more than 7 hours there was no special treatment. Finally, I found a great doctor and explained to him what we had been through. He called a specialist ENT and after the doctor looked at the CT scan he said I didn't need any more medication. That was not what the ER doctor at the Lakes thought. I am going for a biopsy tomorrow and then have the mass removed. If it was so dire that I go to the hospital immediately instead of going to see the ENT doctor why am I still waiting10 days later? Our health care system is so corrupt; its not about your health it's about how much more money they can we get out of the patient. I am very disappointed in Dr Anderson at the ER at the Lakes because he could have contacted a ENT doctor before pushing unnecessary services. He could have talked to the professional who could have given him better advice. Arrogance is not not part of the Hippocratic oath. Saying, "let me ask a specialist should not be beneath any doctor."
