  • Here's the deal with George & Dragon, you get exactly what you should expect... and perhaps a bit more. There's nothing like having a good, strong drink while watching Central Ave go by, hearing the random serenade of the light rail as it cruises through. The crowd is lively and animated. You can always find yourself in a solid conversation and the people are eclectic. Great music on the jukebox, too. The staff is solid. They remember your name and what you drink, they smile and are attentive and keep you quenched. The owner is often seen laughing and joking with the patrons which I view as excellent form. Plus, he's a damn funny bastard. You may find yourself having a pint with him before ya know it! Now, the food... PHENOMENAL! Surprisingly good! Best bangers & mash in town (quality of the sausage is exemplary). Fish n' chips is superb. The stuffed meatloaf is legendary. LOVE the Cornish pastie. I would bathe in a tub of the chicken curry. It's ADDICTIVE! And the kitchen doesn't close until 1am! Haven't had a single disappointment and I've traversed the menu a few times over. All in all, I love this place.
