  • The sheets had holes in them. The pillows were thin. The a/c wasn't on, and took more than an hour to cool off the room. There was a brown stain on the bathroom wall. The room smelled faintly of a very perfume-like deodorizer that unfortunately grew stronger -- to the point of becoming overpowering -- as the night went on. Both me and my fiance ended up having allergy issues, and my asthma kicked in. Our best guess is either this used to be a smoking room, and they were trying to cover that up, or a recent guest smoked in the non-smoking room, and they were trying to cover that up. We would have asked to switch rooms, but we were traveling out of state to our wedding and had hauled in a lot of supplies. We had pulled over last minute so we wouldn't be exhausted for our wedding, and ended up getting very little sleep because of the smell. The staff reaction was essentially, huh. There are other cheap hotels, and a lot that are just a few dollars more, that are much nicer.
