Being new to Phoenix I found this dental practice on the Internet which offered a $77 new patient promotion for cleaning, exam and X-rays. The dental hygienist, a very experienced ex military person, did a good job in cleaning my teeth and taking X-rays. He did not provide protective glasses until I asked for them. This is standard procedures in every dental office I have used for many years. They are to protect your eyes from liquids or particles that could splash in your eyes and your own mouth bacteria. He also did not polish my teeth.
I saw the dentist Dr. Sewright for five minutes who examined my mouth and teeth and said they seemed to be in good condition.
However the practice tried to sell me an expensive periodontic and scaling treatment for $880, because of pockets beneath some of my teeth. I consulted my former dentist who said it was not necessary. I'm not a dentist but I am wary of a practice that immediately tries to sell an expensive treatment to a new patient, especially when a long time former dentist says otherwise. I will not be returning.
