BUYER BEWARE...I really wanted to like Seefu but after experiencing a less than stellar hair coloring treatment almost identical to Tiff. Ls review I feel that I paid waaaayyy too much $$$$$ and also my hair turned out green instead of ash blonde argggggh! Here's the whole story
Having seen all the beautiful photos on their Instagram feed I was drawn to Seefu as I'd read such great reviews about both the service and their hair workmanship plus having Asian hair myself I figured I'd be in good hands at this all Asian stylist salon
I booked an appointment with the "level 3"(meaning most experienced) stylist Vincent for a haircut plus brown ash blonde Balayage type color as his Instagram work seemed to reflect his artistry and experience with previously colored asian hair. I met with Vincent days before my actual appointment just to clarify what I wanted and to get a rundown of what would happen and he explained the process would take a few hours and gave me a quote for his services so I was preparing for a long but hopefully positive transformation.
The day of my appointment I arrived a little late but it wouldn't have mattered anyway because I ended up waiting about 40 minutes for my session to begin... fair enough it seems they were a bit understaffed so I waited patiently for my appointment to begin once the stylist was ready he got to work cutting and snipping artfully away at my tresses admittedly Vincent is very skilled with dry hair cutting which is impressive since its a difficult technique.
15 minutes into my haircut I noticed the salon getting busy and regulars coming in so Vincent pawned me off to work on his regular clients and i was shuffled around between every single one of his assistants for the hair coloring process while he would intermittently check up on me between gushing over his regular clients that was a bit unnerving since I paid a PREMIUM price for his "most experienced stylist's" expertise! I will say however that all the assistants were all very helpful and very nice, the shampoo service at the hair washing station was extremely therapeutic and incredibly relaxing.
After 5 hours of being shuffled around between getting my hair snipped bleached shampooed, toned and then treated with olaplex, my new style was finally unveiled. I love the cut which is perfectly messy yet structured at the same time, however the color was not what I expected. I had initially told the stylist I did not want any brassiness at all which is a common problem with coloring Asian hair as our hair pulls a lot of red orange tones so while I did not get much brassiness I ended up with alot of ASHY GREEN tones in my hair!!!
At this point after five long hours I was quite tired so I was ready to pay for my services plus pay an extra $80 for obviously overpriced shampoo DOH!!!and leave but looking back I feel I PAID TOO MUCH considering I only got a fraction of the head stylist's time and I left the salon with green toned hair WTF!!! And to update my green ashy toned hair turned very brassy and extremely dry after only two shampoos =(
My advice if you're a first-time client at Seefu please do your research and make sure about which stylist is best to help you. Yes the service is very polite and nice and yes the Instagram photos look perfect but DO NOT BE FOOLED and politeness aside if you pay $$$for a premium stylist you should expect be treated to a premium hair experience, but don't be surprised if the top stylist treats you as much less important than his regular clients.
