The service at Hotel Chateau L'Argoat was, quite frankly, the worst service I have ever endured. My friends and I reserved a room with 2 beds for the weekend and upon arriving found 3 small bugs in one of the beds. They ended up deciding that sleeping on the floor was more comfortable. The next morning we spoke with the receptionist who told us he would speak with the manager and have a solution by the time we returned that afternoon.
When we returned that afternoon I spoke with a different receptionist who tactlessly interrupted me indicating that he did not believe us. I asked whether there was any way we could potentially switch rooms and he conveyed hesitation in entertaining this idea, unsure that we wouldn't again complain if bugs were found in a new room. He contended we would have to pay extra if we wished to reserve two separate rooms because a room comparable to the one we reserved was unavailable. Furthermore, this gentleman made very clear his frustration with the matter having just begun his shift, asking us to understand how he felt having just arrived at work forced to deal with this issue. This came off as an obscene disregard for the fact that we paid for a room with bugs in one of the beds. Moreover, the receptionist audaciously took note that we paid a discounted price for the room. Never does a discounted rate justify a bed with bugs or such atrocious service. My friends and I were humiliated, accused of lying, and forced to feel as though we deserved to sleep in those conditions.
