There are pros and cons to my experience.
Pros
The office person (Heather) is efficient and personable. She asked relevant questions. She arranged for an electrician to arrive within thirty minutes. She called the following day for feedback on the job performance.
The electrician (Don Williams) called before arriving; he is polite and seems careful.
Cons
The service fee is $95 plus $95 per hour for any work performed. I was advised of the fee prior to booking the appointment. The $95 charge for "travel time" is too expensive.
Job Performance
The problem is a non-functioning electrical outlet. It had functioned for many years before power suddenly failing. The outlet is on a custom-painted wall. After exploring options, the only one was to open up the wall and trace the electrical wire to its source, hoping to discover why electricity was failing. I opted not to do this because of the expense of repairing the wall even if the electrical problem was resolved. My total cost was $190 ($95 for arriving and $95 for time spent).
End Result
I have several electrical issues to be resolved that will take considerable time. I intend to address these after Christmas 2016. Because of the courteous and prompt response, I will consider calling Father and Son Electric again. However, the $95 service fee will be a large consideration in my decision.
