| - These guys are the best! So,here I am approaching retirement and I'm buying a motorcycle. Everyone I know thinks I'm nuts and they're probably correct. Anyway, not having been on a bike in 40 years, I decided to take this class to actually learn the proper way to ride. I was probably the worst student in this class, but they hung in there for me.
They don't just teach you how to ride, they show you how to ride safely. The focus always on safety first. They're patient, thorough, and mostly a fun group. James, Danny, Kate, and Don are the trainers and they are very professional. Once I have some practice, I plan on taking their level 2 course.
I got my driver's license endorsement this morning and took the day to ride around my neighborhood and get used my new Honda Shadow VT750. I can't believe how easy the transition was to a large bike. By the end of the day, I began to feel at ease on my bike. Those guys at RideSmart told us that it would be easier than we thought and they were right! As I rode I started to loosen the stranglehold I had on the handlebars as I remembered Danny telling us to grip them like a banana. I was "looking through the turns" as James had instructed. Thanks guys! I really appreciated your instructions.
As a side note, be sure to hydrate well before you go. Sitting in the sun on a hot motorcycle and asphalt can get to you pretty quickly.
