| - What's not to love about a warm bagel that you've seen created right before your very own eyes?!
We came here on a food walking tour, and we are all from New York City, which also prides itself on having the best bagels, well, I can attest that Montreal bagels and NYC bagels are different. There is no better or less good, they are both delicious, it's just a different thing.
Montreal bagels reminded me of New York pretzel bread, the crust was thicker and the inside drier. A little less sweet and filling that NYC bagels, and closer to "real" bread!
I loved that this place is an open window in the bagel making craftsmanship! You get to see the massive block of dough being cut and sliced, you get to set the little pieces of dough turning into bagel, you see the oven, and you see the mountain of warm bagels growing and disappearing as customers come in and out.
Great experience. Different than NYC.
