  • The Tropicana leaves MUCH to be desired in Vegas. There were some positive and many negative things about my stay here. First off kudos to the Tropicana for a friendly check in, I was an hour early and they allowed me to check in early without a fee. They didn't have the room I wanted (king) but the two queen was fine. The self parking was pretty abundant and very close to the front entrance which I really liked since it saved some time and money with dealing with the valets. As far as the room, pretty basic and kind off small, no frills, and standard. Immediately opened the guest book and found a used toothpick with red lipstick on it, gross. So the room service is clearly not very thorough. I locked my self out of my room one night and called the desk from the phone in the hallway. I was told a security officer would come right up and let me in. Half an hour later and nothing, so I called back, within 15 minutes the officer came, so service was lousy. I ate at the Beach Cafe around 11pm and ordered a philly cheese steak sandwich, then 10 minutes later I heard the server at the bar station telling the waitresses that no hot food would be available for 30 minutes. So I call my waitress over and ask if my order is cancelled? she goes and checks with the chef, then proceeds to converse with the bar server and he tells her to let all her patrons know its gonna be awhile. She comes back to me and says the order will come out. Well needless to say it was another 35 minutes until my food came out so she wouldn't even be honest with me about the wait time. Service at this place is just very sub standard so if you are looking for a memorable Vegas experience go somewhere else its worth the money.
