| - Looking back on our wedding pictures we just got back and I'm constantly looking at how much I wish I had taken my wedding dress somewhere else. We purchased the dress from J. Majors. The service there was great and we decided to drive from High Point when the time came to go to the place the regularly used for their dresses. What a HUGE mistake! The first fitting went fine and we went back for a second fitting and the dress fit nearly perfect, just needed a tweak at the bust line to make the neckline and cups lie flatter. When we came back two weeks later, the dress wouldn't even zip and not by a little, by 4 inches. They had taken it in in all the wrong places and my dress that had for like a glove now pushed up my chest so much it looked like they were sitting on a shelf. It was horrible. This was about 3 weeks before the wedding. At this time, this should've been the final fitting and it should've been sent back to J. Majors for the complimentary steam to get it ready for the day. However, we had to make yet another trip the following week to have the final fitting and they tried to talk us into leaving it with them and taking the four hour trip for the FIFTH time the week of the wedding so they could steam it. We said absolutely not and took it with us because if you've been married, you know the week of the wedding is not the time to take a four hour round trip and hope that your dress fits.
In the end, the dress did not fit right at ALL after wearing it for more than an hour and we paid $500 for the alterations. My bustle fell apart almost immediately and I walked on my train and had to carry it all night long. The top fell down constantly and became bunched up on the sides, both concerns that I voiced MULTIPLE times and asked for suggestions on how to fix or avoid because that was my fear. So, I look like a wonky disheveled bride in the majority of pictures. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and I highly advise you to bring investment pieces, like a wedding dress, to a business you trust yourself.
