  • After watching so many of Gordon Ramsay's shows where he cooks beef Wellington, we thought we'd go to GR steak to finally try it! We originally had an reservation at 430, but we called a few hours before and they were able to fit us in at 645 so we were very happy about that. It took a while for our server to get to us for our drinks and to take our order. For drinks, my bf and I ordered a pimm's cup and the drifter - both of us are very good! For our entrees we ordered the beef Wellington for 2 and a side of shiitake mushrooms. On the menu it says the Wellington is going to be made medium rare, but ours came our more medium and it was cold when it came out. I imagined the puff pastry would have a crunch when I cut through it, but it was pretty soggy. The roasted potato purée below the Wellington was very good, though! The shiitake mushroom side was overly sweet and we didn't end up finishing it due to its flavor. Maybe we just came on a bad night, but I was slightly disappointed with our dinner. I will come back, though because there are many more things I'd like to try (like lobster Wellington and the dry aged beef)
