During the fall of last year, I visited the office. I saw Dr. Arevalo and found out that I had a double ear infection. I went home and began my prescription immediately. A week later, the pain and discomfort had not changed. I put off calling due to the fact that I know that sometimes antibiotics can take a week before they change the symptoms. When I did call six days after my appointment, the staff told me to come in again. I told them I did not want to have to pay another co-pay just to get another prescription. She checked with Dr. Arevalo and then informed me that the appointment would not be charged because it was so close with the other appointment and all I needed was a new prescription. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the willing to fix the situation. At this time I would have given then 5 stars!
Months later, I received a bill asking for co-pay for the second visit. I called and discussed this with the billing staff on site and he informed me that they had to charge me the second co-pay and there was "nothing they could do about it". He also informed me that the woman that I spoke on the phone who had spoken with the doctor about the billing was recently fired. That was suppose to make me feel better. I still had to pay the co-pay directly to them (it was them asking, not my insurance!).
It's not about the amount of the co-pay, it's the fact that I was told one thing which turned out to be untrue. I do not appreciate untrustworthy businesses and I'm sorry that this is one of them.
