  • When we arrived after an eight hour drive from Michigan, we were warmly greeted and assisted by a tall handsome doorman (originally from England) who arranged for valet parking and took our many bags to our lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. The hotel is in the Garden district which is close to the Eaton shopping center, St. Lawrence market, Chinatown, and the CN tower. The neighborhood may be a bit too urban for some, but the walking proximity to so many attractions was a plus for us. Our second floor suite was spacious for our family of four and near the fantastic large and well equipped gym, which inspired me to work out three of our four days there. The gym has several elliptical machines, treadmills, a stationary bike, a rowing machine, free weights, a Nautilus like weight machine, balance balls and mats. The ladies' room in the gym includes a steam room and dry sauna. There are two water dispensers and a big bowl of apples if you want a post work out snack. My only complaint about our suite is that the master bedroom was a bit small and only one side of the bed (hubby's) had a side table with a reading light. The master bathroom was also a tad cramped and didn't have much counter space. The master bedroom storage closet was in the living area while the second bedroom had a storage closet within. The second bathroom was larger and located near the door. The suite has a nicely stocked small kitchen with fridge, stove, and dishwasher which would be great if you wanted to cook. We ate breakfast every morning and dinner several times at the super hotel restaurant, Citrus. The patio is one of the prettiest patios in the city and we were lucky enough to be seated outside for most of our meals. See my separate Citrus review. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I've had in a long time with scrambled eggs, mounds of yummy bacon, French toast, fresh fruit, and let's not forget the amazing chocolate croissants. There are also gluten free mini muffins, delicious Illy coffee, and an assortment of teas and juices. If you like your coffee right away when you arrive for breakfast, you'll appreciate the multiple coffee stations scattered around the restaurant and patio. Try the warm mushroom salad (a destination dish) and one of the hotel signature cocktails. You could make a meal out of the fresh and delicious bread basket. The pool is top notch with a lovely hot tub and ladies' room. I took advantage of the bathing suit spinner- just a little nicety so you don't have to deal with a dripping wet bathing suit. There is a lovely rooftop sun bathing area with two hot tubs where music videos are streamed on a white wall at night. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and really made our stay pleasant. Sending a special hello to our wonderful dinner server, DAYNA who took such good care of us! We'll be back!
