| - I really like this gym. I drive 20+ minutes to go here because I like it better than other gyms closer to my house. There is just about any type of weight machine you could want, as well as lots of free weights. There are also probably close to 100 cardio machines on the upstairs level, all of which have their own personal TVs with headphone jacks. They offer a wide range of fitness classes, which are included in the membership price.
I'm surprised to see so many complaints about the lack of cleanliness and/or smell. I have often commented on how clean this gym is. I usually see someone cleaning on the floor, as well as in the women's locker room. I have been going here since April 2014, so maybe something changed around then.
Most of the people who work out here are on the younger side and in great shape. That can be intimidating for some, and was a little intimidating for me at first, but I have found it to actually be very motivating. If you disagree, join Planet Fitness, where they actively discourage being in good shape.
The cost is about average. I belonged to a worse gym with a higher price.
Minor gripes: no free parking ($10 per month), no regular aerobics (non-dance) classes, no pool, no towels (all L.A. Fitness gyms)
