This is a great mountain to hike for beginners or people how do not regularly hike in strenuous trails. This is one of the first mountains I would hike very frequently when I first found my love of hiking! It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to hike up the east side of the mountain (if you facing it off of the street named after it, Lone Mountain) to the highest peak of the mountain and back down! You can see the view of the whole city, it's wonderful! And super easy! There are loose rock so please be mindful of that and wear good shoes for traction and grip. My favorite time to go would be early morning, get a nice like cardio session going and get your heart rate up!
However, if I'm not mistaken as of recently they have put up fences all around the mountain and people are not allowed to trespass and hike the mountain. I'm not sure why exactly the city has done this. I just hope they take them down soon!
