a) I hate the fact that Mississauga has close to 1M people now.
b) I love the fact that Mississauga has gotten big enough to host big events like this and the Rotary Ribfest.
I've attended the Port Credit Buskerfest around three times and I think it's great because:
a) It brings people from outside Mississauga;
b) There are quite a few performers from outside Canada;
c) It is "free". While it is free, if you enjoy a show, I highly recommend donating a few dollars to this talented performers.
d) There are food trucks aplenty and you don't have to pay admission to buy food from them.
e) There are local businesses with their tents out in full force so it really helps the Port Credit BIA.
What I saw this year was a magician and a beatboxer and they were both great. While there are performances on the main streets, I also recommend checking out Memorial Park (by the library) and you will find a few performances and lots of vendors there as well.
The only downside is that even though there is plenty of parking spaces, it has gotten so popular that it takes about 30 minutes to find parking.
Verdict: Check it out - no need to go downtown for their Buskerfest. This is just as good.
