  • Was going to give this a 1 star review but the hotel does have some redeeming qualities. I am traveling with my spouse. The first thing we encountered was that there are signs in the parking garage to the Hotel Entrance door so you don't have to walk through the 99 degree heat to get to the front desk. It was locked in the middle of the day. The signs said it would be locked after 10pm. So trudge through the heat we did. They did unlock it after we brought it to their attention and we were able to get through it later. We had no trouble with the front desk and got a room on the 17th floor. I like the room - modern décor and a nice bed. My beef is completely about the bathroom. It is an adequate size but I don't think they had any women test it out before they landed on their fixtures. There is a single sink with a wide, square/ rectangular bowl, which looks great but the sides of the sink are about 2 inches wide and angled down toward the indentation for the sink. There is no flat place to place a curling iron without having it fall into the sink. You could put it on the toilet tank but then your cord stretches across the sink and it might not reach. I ended up putting toiletries and plug ins on the top of the toilet tank (also not flat) and on the flat shelf of the vanity under the sink which is literally 4 inches off the floor. The stall shower has no door - there is a glass wall that covers about 60% of the opening to the bathroom, which means there is always water on the floor and the tile is slippery. There is room in the bathroom for another small vanity with a mirror that would be a great addition. This is NOT a bathroom to share with anyone and it is merely adequate for one. On the other hand, the in-house restaurant, Evoke, and the in-house bar, Longitudes, are fantastic. We both had the best and freshest tasting pasta sauces we have had in a year at least. And Xavier, the bar tender, is an award winning magician and fantastic mixologist. We told him our favorite cocktails and he made us something similar but different and very tasty. We will go back to the bar and restaurant even if we don't stay here again.
