| - I dont understand why there is so many negative reviews about this place. We'll start from the beginning. We got a half off deal on Groupon. So that was way cool. Instead of paying 40 dollars each, we paid 20 dollars each. Now, I have kind of a jaded perspective because as a Vegas native, I have so many great memories from the old Wet N Wild and that set my expectations pretty high for this one.
Upon pulling in the parking lot, I noticed the park itself was WAY smaller than the old location. We had to pay 7 dollars for parking which kind of sucked but, we found a spot right away so that made it a bit better. Upon setting foot in the park, I noticed everything was laid out well and organized. I like the "sunscreen station". That was especially convenient. The new locker system is super easy to use. Not like the old location that was ran by quarters and cheap keys that would get lost or stolen. The locker system takes debit cards or cash, prints out a wrist band and your done. Simple ! You use the wrist band to scan and gain access to your locker. We paid 8 dollars to rent the small locker and even the small locker was plenty big for what we were carrying. The prices go up depending on what size locker you need.
We began our trek throughout the park. Quickly noticed the Dippin Dots booth. Mmmmmmm !!!! Memories !!! Kinda disappointed with the flavors they had.. they only had like 5. Definitely need to add more ! But it was still great! 8 dollars for a large seemed fair. I LOVE them, so Ill pay. We visited on a Monday and the ENTIRE time we were there, from 1230pm to 630pm, we waited about ten minutes to get a raft and then made the trek up the steep stairs. Once making it up the stairs we waited about 5 to 7 min and enjoyed our ride.
This was one of the greatest things about our visit. Man, the weekdays are the days to go !!!!! I cant even believe how little we waited for each ride. And sometimes we got lucky and didnt have to wait at all.. if the lifeguards were looking for two riders, we got to jump ahead of the larger rider groups!!! The rides were fun fast and wet ! We paid 10 bucks to ride the slideboarding.. that was kind of a waste. Trying to play a game while your quickly riding a water slide is kind of difficult and not to mention the board you have to carry up the stairs is SO HEAVY. That was probably the only downside to the park. Carrying those tubes up those steep stairs. But that was at the old location too. You can't really avoid that. The tubes that hold 2 people arent bad but when you have to carry those huge round tubes up, man thats hard.
The lazy river was fun. It wasnt dirty at all like these people that are complaining in their reviews said it was. Yes the water has a strong chlorine smell but what do you expect. Its a water park with tons of people, they have to keep the water clean and the bacteria out. Water was clean and was a little cool but it was hot outside so the water felt nice. The wave pool was cold... wish it woulda been warm but it wasnt hard to adjust to once you were in. The best ride I thought was the Tornado. Omg so much fun. And the Rattler was great too! There so fast, it gives u an adrenaline rush and you go up the sides so quick it makes you think your gunna fall off ! Dont worry, you dont. But it was so fun! All the rides were great though. Totally would go back for another day.
The food was suprisingly great too. Fresh hot and tasty. 7 bucks for 3 chicken fingers and waffle fries. Yum. The lemonade stand has some of the best lemonade Ive ever had but thats just my opinion.
The cabanas I personally think are a waste. If Im out at a water park, I want to sun bathe. Seems to me they had plenty of lounge chairs so if you wanted a break from the rides, you could relax and soak up the sun if you wanted to.
While having the nostalgic memories I do of the old Wet N Wild, I have to remind myself that a remake of something is never as good as the original. Did I enjoy the old Wet N Wild better ? Yes.. but this new one is great too. And I will definitely return.
