  • Every once in a while, the second time is the charm. And fortunately for Noodles Ranch, I am writing a review based on my second visit to this Vietnamese restaurant in South Scottsdale. The first visit (months ago) was doomed from the beginning. My girlfriend and I were looking for an alternate to Chinese and found Noodles Ranch. We were impressed by the decor and how busy they were. We waited patiently for a table to open up. In the meanwhile, we were never acknowledged or told how long the wait was. It's not that often that I walk out of a restaurant for any reason. Being ignored is one of my pet-peeves. This past week offered redemption for Noodles Ranch. One of my co-worker foodies suggested Vietnamese. I'm glad he did because I've enjoyed this cuisine before, just not at Noodles Ranch... The service was better this visit. It wasn't perfect, but that's probably due to the lunch crowd. We were greeted and seated very promptly. The lunch special featured a pot sticker, miso soup (or salad) and a few entree options. The plum and lemon-grass chicken was delicious. Everything was nice and hot and the portion was perfect. Clearly, our meal was cooked to order, so I can forgive the time we waited for the food to arrive. And kudos for providing only chop sticks in the place settings. I am sure they have forks, but those should be by request only. Seeing how Noodle Ranch redeemed itself, I will be more than happy to visit again for another healthy, delicious meal.
