  • Great smoke-free, gambling-free place to stay on the Strip. It tends to be a little pricey but I think it's worth a little extra dough. Parking is free, as with a lot of Vegas hotels. With Elara you have to use the Miracle Mile Shops parking garage. Initially we hated this because we thought you had to walk through the mall (with all the vendors haranguing you through the halls) every time you wanted to go to the car. But we then found out you can take stairs from the hotel exit near the elevators to get to the various garage levels, and thus avoid the mall altogether when going to/from your car. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. They have good security at the elevators; you have to give your room key to the guard who immediately scans it and gives it back with a smile. The room itself was beautiful and extremely clean, and had an amazing view of the Strip. Unlike most Vegas hotels, the room had a coffee maker (for a full pot, not just a cup), fridge, microwave, and sink. We went grocery shopping and made a lot of our meals in the room. My only complaint of the whole stay was that there were no accessible power outlets right near the bed...I use a CPAP machine so that's important. But the machine's cord fortunately stretched to the outlet about 10' away. The outdoor pool area was open, even in December, with a salt water pool and a nice hot tub. It was also extremely clean and had nice folks lifeguarding/watching the area. I was extremely happy with this Vegas stay and I plan to come back soon.
