  • I am a regular buyer at both the Henderson store and the Decatur store, but yesterday for the first time I decided to try selling some discs to the Decatur store. To be fair out the gate I wasn't dressed to the T's but I wasn't expecting the treatment I got. First I wanted to get four discs resurfaced but the manager repeatedly kept expressing to me that it would be a dollar a disc which was fine the first time but after a few it started to come across that I couldn't afford it. I was like wow but it is what it is. I would find out later that when I when to put something in the car they thought I was just leaving without paying, they didn't know my girlfriend was still in there to pay and buy something. So for the selling the lady told me upfront that the stuff I was selling had to be good enough to sale to collectors on Amazon. Really? I could have done that myself. The she had me open a DVD because it was new in package and they couldn't open it that way only to tell me it couldn't be sold do to a small tear in the label. She went on to deny three products due to no barcode on them. For to Macross boxsets and a full blu ray season of Smallville $8.50. That insult in price wasn't so much the issue (I had bought the Smallville used from them for $31.99) it was that the manager kept yelling out make sure you get his $4 before she was even done buffing out my discs. The way they came across was like I was just some bum that needed to make money for his next fix or as my girlfriend put it when I went to putt the box in the car "They didn't know we were together and they sounded like you were someone that had just robbed a house and was trying to sale something real quick". That horrible to make someone feel but worse if the next person in the store sees that. Did I sell the items? No. Fate would have it I have a friend that never saw Smallville so I can pass it to them. Of course I paid for the buffing even with the disclaimer "I did the best" even though my girlfriend said she stopped buffing when she thought I had left. Will I go back? Who knows? I am a big supporter of local small business and even though they are growing they aren't Best Buy or Walmart. The bad taste will keep me at the Henderson location for a while. I just want to share if they see this. First rule I teach on customer service even if you think something never let the client or in your case customer know that's how you feel. I don't know what you make a year but me I support my house with 78k+ and I teach the kids to shop smart which is why I was in your store in the first place, but smart isn't about lowering yourself to help someone and offering you product for your business is helping you whether you choose to or choose not to take it.
