| - To the Customer Service Department:
I am extremely disappointed with AutoNation Toyota service and will never bring my 2012 Rav4 to your shop again.
My battery has been replaced with an excellent battery that is rated for 6 years, at a cost of $75 installed...thanks to a very good friend who takes care of my mechanical needs.
The faulty battery came with my vehicle upon purchase 10/31/12 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. My Rav4 "lived" in the mountains of Colorado until May 2014 when I moved back to Las Vegas to be near my son and my new grandbaby (June 2014).
The bad battery should have been replaced when I first brought the problem to your attention in 2014, when it was leaking and sweating. It was a Firestone Tires tech that told me about it when I had my new tires rotated.
On my recent visit to AutoNation Toyota in August 2015, the service department failed to replace my faulty battery, because the manufacturer's warranty has now expired. When the battery was showing signs of failure, the manufacturer's warranty was intact.
My very first car was a Toyota in 1984, and I've owned several other Toyota vehicles. I expected more from Toyota service, and I have been deeply disappointed with this experience to the length that I am considering ending my business with Toyota forever. Quite frankly, I had better service when I owned a Volkswagon.
It deeply upset & angered me that your service department and AutoNation Toyota would allow a failing battery NOT to be replaced while the warranty was still valid....only to be told the next time I brought the Rav4 to you, that it needed a new battery...after the warranty expired.
Clearly, this situation could have been handled better, because you have lost my business over a battery.
Pathetic.
