| - I stayed here for a full week when my uncle gave me his timeshare to stay in. I typically like staying in the "happening" resorts directly on the strip so I was a little timid about this place, but heck a free week? How can I say no?
The first thing you notice, is that it nearly a mile from the strip (.8 by google) which I thought would get cumbersome. More on that later.
I read the reviews of how to prepare for check-in, and how they will try to attack you for a timeshare presentation as well as call you at 7am to get you to come to breakfast for a timeshare presentation. I was fully prepared for this. Upon check-in, once they gave me the key and told me how to get to room, I began walking, was approached by a guy trying to direct me to "guest services" which was really just the timeshare sales desk and let him know I wasn't interested while I kept walking. Easy Peasy. Upon entering the room, I had absolutely no need for a land line (this is the cell phone age after all) and unplugged both the bedroom and main living room line. (good luck calling me at 7am now)
The room was very spacious with a full kitchen and stocked with everything you need in my opinion. Toast, oven, microwave, full-size fridge, dishwasher, plenty of dishes/silverware/cups and a pitcher in case you wanted to mix (in our case vodka and lemonade) in it.
There was 1 full bathroom that connected from both the bedroom and and living area but there was also a sink in the bedroom area. This was great if you have 2 people getting ready at the same time.
In terms of accessing the strip, they have a shuttle that comes pretty much every 20 minutes it seemed like that takes you to Harrah's for free. This is cool as Harrah's is pretty central and you can walk places from there. I wish there was maybe a secondary shuttle schedule that took you south, but oh well. There are also plenty of cabs that frequent the entrance there if you wanted to do that. You could also walk it. I walked to MGM no problem twice. I also walked back a handful of times from places in the strip back to the hotel (at like 4am) It helps if the nights aren't hot and you need to walk off the 4 million calories of food and drinks.
The pool was plenty large and there enough chairs for everyone from what I could tell. If you are young and want the party scene, this will not be enough for you. When I was there, the average age was around 40 I'd have to guess and no one was partying. Not much you can do about that. If pool party scenes are your speed, you'll need to head to the strip.
Used the gym here and it had pretty much every cardio machine and a few weight machines along with dumbbells up to 50 pounds.
Check out was easy and simple and a cab was available to take me directly to the airport.
If this was free or I had like 4-5 people with me in Vegas, I'd stay here again...but I enjoy staying on the Strip a lot more. Either way, was a fun time.
