| - What's not to love about West Side Market? It's a Cleveland staple, & it's one of the best places in the city to get fresh food - not to mention to get in some great people-watching!
They sell pretty much everything here, including any kind of meat you can imagine (need a whole pig, anyone?), plus pad Thai, homemade cannoli & macarons, ready-to-eat gyros, loose-leaf tea, gourmet cheese, infused olive oils, fresh pasta, Japanese soda, locally grown fruit, vegetables, & flowers... It's always bustling, a little overwhelming, & full of all kinds of food you didn't even know you needed (looking at you, Christmas Ale-crusted bacon!!!)
I love the seating balcony, where you can get the best view of the whole market. It's a perfect little city getaway on a busy day, & it just feels... so very Cleveland. My only wish is that West Side Market offered more ready-to-eat options, like Reading Terminal Market in Philly, but I'll make do with what it's got - which is pretty fantastic.
