Enterning the store I was greeted in a friendly manner and given an overview of the pastries and coffees available. I have no complaints about the service at all. Both ladies working there at the time were very friendly and helpful.
I wanted to try a cronut, which I have never had before, and I saw the chocolate croissants and I had to have one of those as they are a favourite of mine.
The cronut was not what I was expecting in the sense that it did not seem at all fresh. I suppose it was descent tasting, but for the price it should be fresh and exceptional tasting. I will have to try a cronut if I ever go to New York and see what the original tastes like.
As for the chocolate croissant. What a major disappointment. I have had some croissants that were subpar in the past but this was terrible with an odd aftertaste to it. I don't know if they were having an off day or what but I cannot recommend the croissant at all.
I have seen some good reviews about this place and some poor ones as well, which lead me to believe that BakeryHaus has some very inconsistent baking. Definitely not a quality anyone in the food industry wants to be known for.
My recommendation is, don't go out of your way but if you are in the area maybe try them out.
