| - I really really wanted to enjoy this place, but I gave it a chance twice and both times I've been left unsatisfied. The place is clean, I'll give them that. It's a beautiful building, and the decorations are great. The staff is VERY friendly- but the actual work is awful.
The first time I went I got a gel manicure (I get them every 2 weeks). The gel started pealing off the day of. I almost expected it, because the guy only took about 25 minutes to do the manicure, but I was really disappointed. I ended up pealing off the gel in an impulsive rage about 5 days later which (obviously) left my nails weak and brittle.
The second time I got a pedicure. First off, a classic gel pedicure here is $46. I've NEVER spent that much on a pedicure so I was really expecting it to be amazing. It was fine, the guy took his time and I left happy. But a few days later my left, big toe starting hurting and what do ya know? I got an infection and an ingrown toenail.
One small thing I didn't like was they ask you to pick your gel color by looking at the bottles. Both times I came, both colors I picked ended up looking nothing like the colors on the bottle and I hated the color. Not a big deal, if you go just make sure you open the bottle and check the color out. I noticed the colors my friend picked (the darker ones) looked pretty similar to the bottle but the ones i picked (lighter colors) looked absolutely nothing like the bottle.
My friend had similar experiences to mine. Her gel manicure started pealing up and chipping the same day. A week later she pealed it off. She didn't get an ingrown toenail, but they did cut her big toe which left it sore for a few days.
I really wanted to make this place my new nail salon but both experiences have turned me off of even getting my nails done at all.
