| - I stayed four nights at this grand hotel, for work, and so thankful for it.
The Omni William Penn is a beautifully historic hotel, the kind you'd see in the classic movies, with chandeliers, huge arches and hallways that stretch out forever. The lobby was huge, with a seating area right in the middle. The best part? A Starbucks attached to the hotel - PERFECT. The rooms were a bit dated (the carpets could probably use some redoing), but clean and comfortable is all I really care about. And boy was that King bed comfy, I slept like a rock star! The room was just a little dark, with two small windows that faced another building, any daylight trying to get in wouldn't have a chance. For most people, this might be a problem. For someone who loves her sleep, this was ideal. The room also came with a cooler (they couldn't say fridge, for liability's sake), so I could have some cold water and keep some yogurt I had for the morning.
The gym at this hotel has to be one of the best I've ever been in. It's huge and has a variety of equipment, though it's a bit tricky to find the first time. I wish all hotel gyms were this nice.
And because I stayed multiple nights, I was able to get a free (gratuity-only) shoe shine! Bonus! If you're coming to Pittsburgh, for who knows why, this is the place to stay.
