Somehow me and a couple of friends ended up wandering the streets of downtown Tempe and were in a dispute concerning where to eat. While trying to convince one of our friends that trying something new would be fun, I settled with Z Tejas, a place I was familiar with. I normally go to the Scottsdale Fashion Square location which I never have a problem with. The hostess was wonderful, super sweet. She was wearing glasses and a polka dot skirt. She engaged in conversation and seemed happy to be there. Our server on the other hand, was subpar. He was tan/colored with a buzzed head. He was less than enthused and didn't make us feel welcome at any point in time. He made our requests seem like a pain and was visibly annoyed with requests for a simple modification, such as holding off on the cheese of our guacamole. The guacamole was alright, but was definitely not worth 12$. Also my soda was flat. We assume our service was bad because we are a trio of teenagers, but our age shouldn't affect the service. We did not tip too well, not because of our circumstance, but because we felt we were a burden rather than welcomed guests.
