| - Stumbled upon this place on our way home from the hospital one morning (errybody's ok!), and I don't know if it's because we hadn't eaten all night or what, but 30 bucks and two coffees each later, we were both in need of more medical attention.
The Almond Croissant here is HANDS DOWN, the best one in the city, HANDS DOWN. I cannot stress enough how amazing this almond croissant is. Please be careful and weigh your options thoroughly before indulging though, because what comes after your first bite is a 3 month long, weekend binge addiction that can only be remedied if you move out of town. Really, be careful. Maybe go across the street to Jules instead, which is nice and good but won't lead you down "la route dangereuse" awaiting you at Thobors. I have to LOL as I type their name because until today I actually had no idea what the place was called! I would just show up (or send my boyfriend), to "that little French bakery with the blue sign!".
They're so nice and sweet there too (now I'm talking about the staff), always smiling and happy to help you (because they know you'll be hooked and put them all, or all their children through college).
Also of note: the croque monsieur is my bf's fave, the plain croissant is so nice and flakey and they have really good sandwiches! Oh oh! and those delectable little beignets at the counter, that you can get stuffed with crème or nutella or jam...omgggg.
