We picked this hotel after seeing the hotel pictures online. It looked just the way I anticipated (maybe the room looked a bit smaller, but everything was the same as how they described). Hotel Epik was located in heart of Old Montreal. This hotel interior was very lovely and had a modern design. The staffs were extremely nice, friendly and helpful. Since our room was on the second floor, given that this B&B has no elevator, the hotel staff offered to carry all luggages to our room. The room itself has a very contemporary design. The mattress was very comfortable and has good support. I like how they used daylight bulbs instead of the traditional light bulbs. It makes the bathroom much more spacious and cleaner. The hotel also offered complementary Wi-Fi service and free breakfast for guests. When I was taking pictures at the hotel lobby, one of the hotel staff showed us around and told us some interesting facts about the hotel:
The hotel owner had the thought of renovating the hotel. It took him a long time to find the right people and the right materials to design it to how the hotel looked now. He told us the owner has a very unqiue taste in interior design. When they demolished the interior of the hotel, they retained the old rocks and stones and used it to compose the wall for the current hotel. I like how they incorporated historical features of the old hotel to the new design. They also showed us around to the restaurant. Since we were here for a day, we did not get a chance to try in the restaurant.
The hotel was 3 minutes walk from the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal and Rue St-Paul. It was 5 minutes walk from Quartier des Spectacles. There were a lot of great restaurants around this hotel. We would definitely come back to this hotel when we revisit Montreal!
