  • I know people who come from all over the midwest for the Dane County farmer's market. It's huge and wonderful! Cheeses, produce, flowers, honey, breads, pastries, cheesecakes, meat stalls, jewelry and more. And TONS of samples - nearly every stall has something to try. I'm officially spoiled about farmer's markets for the rest of my life. Great place, wonderful to walk around and chat with friends. Granted, it gets pretty packed, so if you want the good stuff, go before 10. When I lived within walking distance, I would typically aim to arrive about 8, and get all the delicious ingredients I wanted without the busy people. Be sure to leave enough time to walk around! It can easily take an hour. My favorite stall is the Fantome Farm goat cheese stall, which frequently sells out before 9AM. What a great place!
