| - I have a love-hate relationship with Industry. It can be the most obnoxious spot in Pittsburgh if you come at the wrong time. It's a very cool, industrial-style bar with a lot of bar space and additional tables. However, there are sports broadcast on like eight different TVs at all times, which is fine, but wow..it can get so loud and "bro" ish. Every time I come during prime time (weekend evenings), there is always one group of people who get obnoxiously drunk, and I've learned to accept that's just the clientele of Industry. It's like a little piece of South Side in Lawrenceville. (Ever been to Local in Southside? This is Lawrenceville's version.) Also, the wait can get CRAZY on weekends.
That being said, I love this place for lunch or happy hour. They have a great great great whiskey, beer, and cocktail selection. (Though I wish they carried more local beers!!!) There is something for everyone as far as drinks go. I loved their summer cocktail menu these last few months.
The food is not too bad. It's nothing special - sometimes it's meh, sometimes it's outstanding. There is one sandwich I got once that I sent back - I think it was the shaved roast beef sandwich? It was inedible. Avoid at all costs.
Brunch should be avoided here as well. The brunch service is very slow and the menu overwhelming.
Overall, if you're looking for an interesting-looking place with some good whiskey or beer, and standard bar food, this is a safe bet. Just be sure to come early in the evening. ;)
