I've been here once before a couple years back and the vibe was more mellow then it is now. They are trying to market this pool as more of a party pool now. Which is fine except prices have gone WAY up since we last time I came here.
They replaced most of the free lounge chairs with day beds you have to pay to use. I wasn't about to get in line early before they open to get a chair. We arrived right before noon and I got us a day bed to use for the day. It cost $300 rental fee (closer to $400 when they add a bunch of misc. fee's) and it has a $300 food and bev minimum spend requirement and you still get charged tax and gratuity on top of that. The tax and gratuity fee is pretty standard. Servers need to be paid for their service and the gov't wants its $ too. I wasn't happy about paying almost and extra $100 bucks on the rental fee though. Pretty ridiculous. I couldn't even tell you what the added cost was for nor what it covered.
Im in my mid-30's now and felt right at home here. If you are looking for the younger prettier crowd go next door to Drai's at the Cromwell.
We had a great time at the GO pool but for what I paid for the bed ($700+ by the time all was said and done) I could have probably got a cabana at a nicer pool somewhere else. For the Flamingo that is just way too steep. Its not exactly the nicest hotel on the strip. Far from that actually.
I don't think we will be coming back.
