| - I've been fortunate enough to have visited Mayfair a handful of times, even accompanied by the owners. Furthermore, with them or not, there's no denying the beauty in the venue. A real visual gem with an attention to details. It is welcoming, however, to a higher end crowd looking for drinks and a place to unwind, unless you visit on weekends... Mayfair offers a variety of finger foods to complete your cocktail experience which is quite the addition. The cocktail list, crafted around the use of Kusmi Tea is intriguing but ultimately, not to my liking. Luckily, they have a decent scotch selection. This cozy, yet intriguing place is welcoming, however only on certain days.
Being a well known hot-spot in Montreal, and an A5 Management bar, it is quite frequented, especially on Friday's and Saturday's. As well as events such as lingerie défilés and corporate events. The more the merrier, right? However, it is jam packed! Of course, like more similar bars and clubs, the set up prioritizes room for those with bottle service or bigger spenders offering them privacy and room to dance. The rest of the crowd, well tough...crap.
If you are also a fan of rap music, you might enjoy this venue aiming for high end yet lowering itself with its musical selection. Luckily, they do offer Jazz nights if hearing swears every second verse isn't your thing. The staff is kind but I believed overworked.
I must, lastly mention Russ, one of the managers for always being so attentive and warm. This place is definitely worth checking out at least once. I do recommend in the earlier evening to really enjoy the interior decor, food, and not wait in a ridiculous line!
