| - After having something light to eat, thought I could hit LA Fitness for a quick work out before I got home to host a family BBQ. Couple of my buddies warned me not to go to this gym alone and I didnt't think it would be that bad. As I walked in, I was greeted by a very nice guy and I told him its my first time at this location. He explained everything thoroughly and asked if I wanted a tour but I had no time since I was tight on time. I was given a guest pass and I walked into the changeroom and it was empty. Seems like not many women go here. As soon as I was changed and ready to go, I felt like the whole gym stopped around me. I was feeling very uncomfortable as I was getting stared and talked about (in foreign language that I understand). I took a deep breath and started my routine and the "eye-rape" was being continued. As I moved to do my weight training, this was probably the worst part of my workout experience. From roid monkeys to machine hoggers, I was asked "you need any help", I was told "my form was wrong". The machines that I really needed to use, the "machine hoggers" would just sit on them. When I finally got the courage to ask if they are finished, they would find a way to make conversation. At this point, I was so angry I actually started to lift more weight so I don't smash someone's face in, I guess one positive thing came out of this gym! I have gone to other LA fitness locations and they are much better than this location. Unfortunately, LA Fitness will only get two stars because its a big and clean facility and the staff are really friendly. I won't be coming back to this gym unless I go with a male companion or if I take their private women's classes.
