  • We were family membership for over 5 years and overall our experience was good. The one thing I had issues with then and now is the cost of their Kids Korner Childcare services. We have 3 little kids and at one point they were all going to the childcare 3-4X/week as they were too little for school OR it was Summer holidays etc. We paid between $250-$300 just on drop in childcare EACH month for our kiddos at Trico, plus if you factor in the monthly membership and swim lessons/skating lessons etc...we spent a LOT of money there. When my husband was still at his oil+gas job that was an expense we could stomach but during the recession and beyond it was a challenge and we went less and less to the gym. I did make a point to voice my concerns to the staff via a forum at the front desk and it looks as though very recently they adjusted their pricing for drop in childcare. It's a little too late for us we have since cancelled our membership and I do the occasional drop in workout class because the instructors are fantastic. But, with Summer around the corner I need an affordable gym childcare so we are now members at World Gym on Southport. They have free childcare for 2 kids and only $2/hr for the third child.
