  • Hey hey! I was in desperate need of a haircut so I Yelped "Barber" and found Onyx. Good reviews so I decided to check it out. I lucked out because today is cheap Tuesday. 7 buck trim. Oh yeah! Where in the City are you going to find a 7 buck cut? Dayaam! Be advised that the shop is situated in the basement of an office building. I got to the shop at about 1130am and observed approx 12 guys ahead of me. It really didn't worry me because the shop had 7 Barbers trimming people. I signed in, waited about 1 hour and I was seated in the chair. Bonus to how the shop manages the waiting list. If you are seated in the waiting area, my Barber would be on the right side, second chair in. I told the barber what I wanted, faux hawk to bald and nothing off the top. He said that it was not a 7 buck cut. Wha?? What's interesting here is that I observed him trim up a faux hawk just before me. ?????? Other barbers also were cutting faux Hawks too. Like I said, I was in desperate need of a trim so I told him to proceed. He trimmed me up and presented me with a ticket. The ticket was imprinted with $19. So much for $7. So I took the ticket to the reception counter and the receptionist immediately questioned the $19 ticket. The receptionist left the counter and questioned the barber who cut my hair. He returned and advised me that the cost of the hair cut would be $15. Hey, that is better than $19 and nothing near close to $7. I paid and left. I guess the tip was $8 extra charge for my trim. Kudos to the receptionist who made the effort to resolve the pricing issue. When I got back to my place I saw an error on the right side of my head and above both ears. Lol. Oh well. The shop management should put some more specific info on the website in regards to the Tuesday $7 cut special.
