| - Being a Dumb American, I don't have the same cultural bias either for or against Canadian Tire that Lee has. So when he suggested going in here to grab a couple of extra camping pieces, I was like, "sure!"
You see, it's a novelty to me.
So this is a review of the store part only, I have no experience with the auto service part, which is what seems to be bringing the reviews down on this location. Based on those, I'd probably be leery of bringing any vehicle here.
So the storefront part -- the closest counterpart to a US store would be a smaller Wal Mart or perhaps a K-Mart-- you know, Wal Mart without the grocery part attached. It's got a little bit of everything -- sporting goods, car stuff, outdoors equipment. It's all on the lower end of price and quality. Lee was initially looking for a cheaper pair of sandals, and nothing here really sufficed. I ended up steering him towards Sail, which had a better selection. I think we ended up grabbing a BBQ lighter for the campfire as an impulse purchase because it was cheap, and it is a fidgety lighter that is probably close to being tossed out.
So, I had no problems with this place -- for retail, it is what it is and does what it does.
