  • Look. I was going to the Library back when it first opened, and it was trying to be an upstanding, classy joint in the typically sleazy South Side bar crowd. Apparently that tactic failed miserably, because with each repeat visit, it's gotten sleazier and sleazier. The TVs are always on now with boxing or wrestling or some shit, and the waitresses have overly tight catchphrase t shirts and yinzer hair. The food and cocktails still rule, but I felt compelled to note the downward trends at the Library since the last time I went the service sucked complete ass. (Eloquently put, I know. But why bother trying when this joint has quit trying too?)
