Horrible. My fiance and I stopped in for a glass of wine and sat at a table deep in a quiet and happy conversation. We were holding hands and twice in an hour and a half, my fiance leaned over and gave me a peck on the lips. Just a half-second peck. We were given the bill and told to leave. Kicked out by a horrible waiter and absolutely despicable bartender who explained that "The Roy is a family restaurant." Honestly, we were so stunned, we couldn't react right away.
We are a happy professional couple with four teenaged children--nothing wild or racy about us. And the funny thing is, the next week the owner of another restaurant sent us each a free glass of wine because he said we just looked so happy.
Never in my life have I encountered anything like this. It was a sad, sad statement about society when hand holding or a quick kiss gets a couple thrown out of a bar.
