  • Toronto has the best farmers market in the world....and St.Lawrence Market is it. I love farmers markets....I'm one of those that will hunt down farmers markets and food halls any time I travel, anywhere in the world . I also love grocery stores and just seeing what grocers have to offer, who has unique products, is there diversity....etc. I have to say St.Lawrence Market in the heart of Toronto is unique from it's size, its diversity, and it's varied foods, butchers, produce...with weekend farmers markets (sat) and antique markets (sun) , is unparalleled anywhere else. Places in St.Lawrence that I love: -DiLiso's fine meats is my favourite butcher (great chorizo sausage and cap on coulottes) - Carousel bakery has the most famous peameal bacon sandwich (though I prefer their peameal breakfast sandwiches. - there is a freshly made pasta place in the back right that has amazing cooked ravioli with meat sauce (always get the large and ask for extra sauce and extra cheese) -Stonemill Bakehouse has great breads and pastries, also pretty inexpensive compared to other bakeries in Downtown Toronto. - the bulk food place downstairs has amazing dried fruits and any type of ingredients you are looking for. - the fruit and veggies stand on the main floor near the entrance always has great variety of local and imported fruit. We love giant fruit and they had the biggest mangos and biggest jumbo pomegranate that makes a fruit lover sing! - there is a juice place that sells freshly juiced veggies that is very fresh and prices are super reasonable . -cheese cheese and more cheese at various vendors on the main floor. -Everyday coffee roasters making a great cup of coffee! - don't forget the North farmers market (that is actually now located in a temporary structure south of the st Lawrence Market)...on Saturday they have local farmers and local food businesses selling great fruits and veggies, eggs, meats, honey, cheese, olive oil, chocolate...and lots more. If you haven't been it's a must check out and uniquely Toronto. Keep in mind they are usually closed on Sundays and Mondays.
