Spent six nights here at the end of August.
Not the best and not the worst, just a little worn and weary.
Pretty easy to get to from the airport. Took the Airport Rocket bus ($3 Canadian) to the subway (free transfer) and the subway to St Patrick's Station. It's a two block walk from the station. Took about a half hour total. Not bad.
Upon check-in, we were informed they were doing renovations and are re-branding to a Double Tree by Hilton in a couple of months. The work would be going on from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, and we might here some noise during those times. "Could I get a renovated room?" I asked. "Not at this time" was the reply. Bummer.
Our unrenovated room was clean. The carpeting was bit worn and the room still had a tubular television. But it was an adequate place to rest our heads at night.
The fitness center is rather small, just four treadmills and a workout bench with some dumbbells. There is a small indoor pool next to the fitness center. I saw only one person use it during my daily workouts, and it wasn't me.
The business center consists of two computers and one printer.
There is a bar and restaurant located in the building. Got a couple of drinks at the bar but didn't eat at the restaurant. Drinks were cold though.
Noise from the renovation only affected us one afternoon when we tried to get a catnap in. They were drilling something on our floor for about a half hour. Other than that, we were not affected by the renovation.
This hotel is located right on the border of Chinatown and Yonge-Dundas Square. It's convenient to all major Toronto attractions via walking or subway. I'd stay here again after the re-branding.
