rev:text	I whole heartedly agree with Mile, Cassie, Katie and Philip. My mother just spent 5 days at Sante of Surprise. It's a beautiful facility and the food was wonderful. The dining room staff was always friendly and helpful. And so was the cleaning staff. And that's where it stops. The nursing staff and CNA's were very unkind and unprofessional. Very specifically, a nurse by the name of Tonja, shouldn't be allowed to card for people. She was more interested in chatting with her co-workers than providing care. Fortunately I was able to spend 8-10 hours a day with my Mom. It was heart-breaking to see people with call lights on fir 15-20 min with no response. We would walk down the hall and see the staff chatting with other staff. Not doing charts or updating records, but talking about their love life. I would go to the desk to ask a question or ask for pain medication and Tonja would avoid eye contact - as if she didn't notice I was standing there! Unprofessional. And just plain unkind. It was surprising because it was so blatant. As if she either knew she wouldn't get fired or didn't care. I can understand being unprofessional but for someone who "chooses" to work with people who rely on them for help, it's the lack of compassion - the downright unkindness that I don't understand. If you are busy - not just talking - it only takes a minute to walk to the room, acknowledge to the human being in that bed that you will help them shortly. This facility - and the doctors who own it - should be ashamed. They pay great attention to the form and very little to the substance. Shame on you for taking advantage.
