I don't know about you, but big-box movie theaters make me cringe. They're too big, too sleek, too impersonal. Also, I hate the idea of supporting the junky Hollywood films and endless garbage remakes of good, old movies. For these reasons, I love the Capital Theater.
Do not expect the huge theaters and array of movie listings that you're used to in other theaters; Capital Theater only shows a few movies at any given time, but chances are those few movies are better that what you will find else where. Seating is quite cramped- and if you're leggy, you'll probably be a bit uncomfortable. My solution? Stop by one of the local Gordon Square bars before the movie. Why? I'm just less concerned about these things after a beer or two!
If you enjoy watching lesser-known movies or catching old films in theaters, I highly suggest stopping by the Capital Theater.
