  • Ok, so I have been a dog owner for over 25 years. I have been going to Cosmos since it's opening and my dogs name is on a brick (He died 1.5 years ago so I like to visit the brick. I recently got a new dog and began taking him there after his series of shots was complete. I love this park and have had virtually no issues prior to this. For the second time in a month, I have run into a very, very aggressive dog. The first experience was when my puppy who is only 6 months old and very nervous about the water, stepped in for the very first time.... a rottweiler who was coming out of the water, dropped it's ball and ran at my puppy and attacked and put him on his back IN THE WATER biting his neck! I called at my puppy calmly who was whimpering, yelping and trying to get away at this point. The lady that owned the rottweiler named Honey I believe, practically fell over pulling her dog off of my puppy. I called my puppy away and got away from that dog. I was soothing him and had several other owners come up to me asking if my pup was ok and stated that this isnt the first time this has happened and that she had been told NOT to come to the park anymore. She tried to bring her Rott back to my dog to "make friends" and I told her to keep her damn dog away, that she was far too aggressive and should not subject others to that dog. She started to state that her dog was "jusst playing" REALLY? Come on! Other owners also chimed in and she finally left. Well, guess what? This morning I went again very early to avoid him having another bad experience...everything was fine for about 25 minutes when guess who arrived with Honey! This time, she tried to approach me and I told her that she and her dog should not be allowed in the park... she was holding her dog back by the collar btw....I told her I knew about other complaints and if she didnt leave I would call the ranger....which I did. She has been reported more than a few times. Owners beware, if you see a short woman with blondish brown hair, sunglasses, wearing shorts and a tank top with wading/rain boots and carrying a chuck-it stick... keep your dog safe and get away and call the ranger. The number is on the sign by the gate. ugh. .
