| - OKAY, so you want an HONEST review from an avid EVIL DEAD cult follower.
I give the performance 8 out of 10 rating. I am only taking off 2 points for the girl that played Ash's sister - she was small, ugly, and had a horrific voice.
All the rest of the cast members rocked!
As far as the bad sound that people are reviewing - I just didn't get it. The sound was just fine. REMEMBER: Evil Dead movies have that over dramatized sound when Ash is tripping out on the demon activity. This is not bad sound, it's part of the act!
On another note: YOU MUST BE AN EVIL DEAD FAN to understand this musical!!!
Remember folks, it's a fun parody.
A very clever mix of Evil Dead 1, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, a twist of ScoobyDoo, and the cheesiness of a low budget Broadway show.
I laughed thru all the acts!
If you plan on going, and you have not seen an Evil Dead film - you will not appreciate this show! I HIGHLY recommend watching all 3 films before attending this show!
Great job by the guy that played Ash's friend Scotty. Although he did not look like Scotty at all - he did a great job and sounded just like Scotty.
The guy that played Ash was remarkable: incredible likeness to Bruce Campbell and he knew exactly how to play it up!
The girl that played the dumb blonde and the Doctor's daughter was sensational - very funny, sexy, and I just couldn't wait to hear what she would say next.
The characters were often interact with the audience, adding a special dash of humor to the entertainment.
The guy that played the redneck (BobbyJo's Boyfriend) was incredibly funny. Great job!
I was a VIP guest, and I sat just one row outside the splatter zone. Watching people get hit with the fake blood (smelled like delicious fruit punch) was also very funny! Just because I was seated outside the mapped splatter zone does not mean you are not getting wet!!! Audience members outside the zone will still get hit with water from the back. It's just water people, it's all good. But again, the front is lethal with extremely RED fruit punch!
I would like to take a moment to reiterate:
Do not go until you have seen all 3 Evil Dead films.
Go with an open mind so you can appreciate the humor.
Understand that this is a fun parody, do not go if you are looking to be frightened haunted house style.
